Journal Prompt Ideas for Children

Journaling is a beautiful activity to bring into your 7-9 year old age group as well as Preteens. Having journal prompts to start or end each class off with just helps children get into the habit of writing their feelings and thinking creatively.

The journal is a sacred space, so if children want to share what they have written they can, if they choose not to, that decision is to be respected.

Some journal prompt ideas;

●      List 5 things you are grateful for

●      How am I feeling today?

●      Write about something that has annoyed you recently and why?

●      A letter to my future self / younger self / myself now

●      If I was an animal I would be and why?

●      I could be kinder by…

●      My biggest fears are…

●      What makes me unique?

●      What do I love about myself?

●      If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
